AinaCore® SI was developed as a structural insulation for homes, buildings and various industrial applications. It is produced in 4’x 8’ sheets in thicknesses ranging from ½” to 18”. Every inch in thickness provides approximately R7 in insulation value.
AinaCore® SI is a 2lb/ft3, closed cell rigid polyisocyanurate (PIR) foam that exhibits exceptional characteristics at continuous service temperatures from -297°F to +300°F. It has an industry-leading k-factor of 0.165 BTU-in/hr-ft²-°F, with structural characteristics which make AinaCore® SI an optimal rigid insulation for applications that require a flame spread/smoke development of 25/50 or less.
AinaCore® SI utilizes a polyols derived from recycled PET (plastic bottles). It complies with ASTM C-591, Grade 2, Type IV, and Section 1605 of ARRA of 2009. In order to achieve its insulation and fire rating, AinaCore 2.0 does contain an additional blowing agent that is in compliance with California’s upcoming Green Chemistry Initiative, the strictest standards in the nation.
